International Noise Awareness Day, 30th April, 2014

Causes of illness due to noise polution one  in three people are disturbed by day-time noise. Additionally, one in 5 people are disturbed by trafic noise during the sleep time. Infact, the number two cause of ill health after air pollution is  due to traffic noise during sleep. Noise and it's effects
160 decibels sound genarated by gun shot can burst ear drum. Plane take-off generates 130 decibels and chainsaw generates 120 decibels sound, which can cause pain threshold/hearing loss after short exposure. 120 decibels sound generated by chainsaw and 100 to 85 decibels sound generated by the sound of disco can cause Hearing loss. 80 decibels generated by Road traffic can cause Cardio-vascular diseases. 60 decibels generated due to office can cause stress/poor concentration. 30 decibels generated due to Whispering can cause Sleep disorders.
